You Can’t Write about Woke Culture
Anything that is written will be conveniently deleted, and everything that is spoken about will be subject to cancellation.
I have had a second look. It is a simple and uncomplicated paragraph. It said the director could have mounted the franchise just for entertainment purposes, without an agenda, but opted to swim with the tide and make his stand obvious. The woke culture has not only been prevalent but rampant in Hollywood in recent years, and the antagonists in all the three installments of the franchise, and you will get the point.
The review got published alright, but the paragraph was conveniently deleted. The publication palpably played it safe. Maybe those working in it are adherents to the woke generation. I will never know the real reason. There is no point in arguing either. That being said, the publication had violated one of its own rules by stifling an opinion.
It is not something that has happened to me for the first time. On the contrary, with so many previous instances it has become farcical to a certain extent. I have written for many eminent media houses, who promise you a platform to express your opinion as it is, but chicken out the moment they read something that doesn’t conform to their invisible norms.
