With a Restricted Word Count
The best short form articles from the year gone by
When I got back to writing, it was a conscious decision to not limit my focus. As such, apart from working on elaborate articles, that require extensive research, I also decided to express myself through a few words. In fact, by restricting the word count, I had actually increased the possibilities as regards my writing.
There are many a draft that benefit from this, drafts that possibly need only a few words to be explained and those that would otherwise remain incomplete.
Perhaps the basic requirement for such drafts is the fact that they are to be written in a precise and succinct manner, within a certain word limit. There is absolutely no point in unnecessarily dragging the point these drafts are trying to make.
Focusing on short articles, that require pertinent writing and some crispness during editing, has made the completion of such drafts possible. It has ensured them a culmination, albeit with a logical conclusion, thereby making them more relevant.
More importantly, such short form articles tend to do well. With the attention span of readers getting reduced considerably, it is how well you express yourself, in as fewer words as possible, that does the trick.
