Having wanted to visit San Marino for as long as I can remember, when the opportunity came my way, I grabbed it with both the hands. I wasn’t too keen on a day trip and wanted enough time to explore this tiny, mountainous country and dive deep into its history.

As such, some planning was required beforehand. Thankfully, it helped me invest significantly to discovering San Marino. For the uninitiated, Monte Titano (Mount Titan), dominates San Marino’s landscape, is along with the capital city’s Centro Storico (historic center), is listed in the prestigious UNESCO list as a Patrimonio dell’Umanità (World Heritage Site).

Even the municipalities of Dogana and Borgo Maggiore are interesting places to explore, provided there is ample time at your disposal during the trip. The former is the largest settlement in the landlocked country, while the latter is the second-largest administrative division and lies at the foot of Monte Titano.
