Zeroing down on Odisha was a good choice. It's since become my third favorite after Himachal and the North East.
You are right. Bhubaneswar is not the only city with German connection. During my research before travel I also found out the other city that hosted the hockey world cup this year (Rourkela) still has a few Germans living in it. I did not have the time to visit the city though.
Since you mention Bangalore, let me also add Königsberger - who designed Bhubaneswar has also designed the Indian Institute of Science campus in Bangalore. I learnt a fair bit about him during my research. Travel makes you learn what you never knew about :)
