A picture is worth a thousand words is a popular adage in multiple languages. It means that complex and sometimes multiple ideas can be conveyed by a single still image, which manages to put forth its meaning and significance in a more effective manner vis-à-vis a description that makes use of many thousand words.

It is a fact that every interesting photograph has a story to tell, without necessarily creating a detailed narrative. In fact, photography is a knack of conveying stories, ideas and viewpoints through the visual medium. While not every picture tells a story, they do convey emotion and mood, thereby necessitating the need for a detailed examination.
