All it took me was one high reading during an annual checkup to let go of sugar completely.
I loved bakery. Now I only eat multi-grain non-white bread.
I quit Coke, soda and all other such.
No chocolates either.
No potatoes and pumpkins.
I have also said goodbye to fruits high in natural sugar like bananas, mangoes, pineapples and water melons.
It was tough initially, but now I have got used to it. Lost 20 kgs at one time, had to put on weight thereafter :)
