It doesn’t take a lot to show the country you have chosen to be your home some respect. Unfortunately, most don’t do this
Those who avail private cabs after getting out of Hamburg Airport must have noticed this more often than not. As the ride passes through the Bebelallee quarter, you notice the consulates of two countries close to each other. While the one belonging to Indonesia looks like a corporate office, the same cannot be said about the Consulate of Iran.
It is always heavily guarded, and there is every chance of you noticing some kind of protest happening in front of it every second day. Many countries have their consulates in Hamburg. Some have the appearance of a regular house, others get lost among an array of restaurants and shops. However, it is these two consulates that are the most discernible, offering a stark contrast.
If you happen to visit Hamburg, Berlin or for that matter any other major German city on a weekend, you will definitely notice some protest happening in the center. In fact, it is evident in every major city across Europe. Over the last few months I have visited Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Helsinki, Paris, Rotterdam and Vienna, and it was as if there is a common theme playing in these cities…
