The 'Before we begin' bit is diplomatic :)

But I agree to most of the other reasons that you have provided.

Besides, making submissions over a time I have also come to believe that a majority of the publications take the contributors for granted.

While my submission on a topic (adhering to guidelines) may be rejected sans a valid reason, another writer's submission on similar lines is accepted.

Moreover, few editors are willing to engage. They want the writer to do all the work and make no effort from their side.

Waiting to read Part 2. While I do anticipate it to an extent, let me also hope it is not entirely an extension of 'Before we begin' :)
