Fascinating Finland

Having spent two exciting weeks exploring this beautiful Nordic nation, there is a sense of contentment.

The first opportunity I had to visit Finland came as a counteroffer to my resignation. My boss asked me to stay put and go on an all-expenses-paid corporate event to Jyväskylä. It was a tempting offer, no doubt, but I stuck to my guns.

I am yet to fathom as to why employees become important only when they decide to leave. Anyways, I had decided to further my career at another place, and that is how it panned out.

Finland happened, not once but two times over. However, on both occasions, it was work that, not surprisingly, took up most of the time. Office trips tend to be mechanical in nature, and the last thing that an individual does is to enjoy them.

In any case, the time finally came to plan a vacation to Finland. It was going to be an elaborate vacation, and there was a chance to explore this beautiful Nordic nation in detail. It was planned as a largely impromptu affair, with the intention of venturing outside of the Finnish capital and exploring the countryside as much as possible.
