Czech Republic, or Czechia as it is also known as, is one of the first countries that I visited during my travels. This beautiful landlocked country in Central Europe has a lot to offer in terms of quality and variety.

It’s natural that I have ticked off the more touristy places like Prague, Karlovy Vary and Český Krumlov. That being said, Brno, the second-largest city in Czechia, is my favorite city in the country.

Brno has some amazing attractions. Besides the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul on Petrov Hill and the Špilberk Castle, there are three elaborate squares across the Brno center that are worth visiting. Moravské náměstí (Moravian Square), náměstí Svobody (Freedom Square) and Zelný trh (Vegetable Market) have a lot of attractions.

Talking about attractions, Zelný trh, Brno’s second-biggest square, is home to one of my absolute favorite landmarks in Czechia. The strange statue (photograph above) depicts a young boy’s body with an adult Mozart’s head and a single wing. Erected outside Reduta Theatre, one of the oldest theaters in Central Europe…
