Be Prudent! Spot the Stock Clearance Approach. It Doesn’t Help

Some publications on this platform cannot handle the excess, but keep welcoming new writers and accepting more drafts

I hate to write something negative. But there are times when that is the lone option. This is one such occasion. My sincerest apologies for that.

Last month, when I opened the mail, I happened to see a newsletter from one of the writers I regularly read. The gentleman also happens to be the editor of one of the first publications I contributed to, when I began writing on this platform. Among the other things mentioned, there were a couple of points he was categorical about.

For starters, he urged all writers to take rejection as a chance to grow their craft. Personally, it is something I have always done. In fact, the gentleman has rejected my drafts on so many occasions that I shouldn’t be writing for that publication anymore. Jokes apart, the fact is, I still do. That proves rejection doesn’t leave me frustrated.

However, it is the second point that made more sense to me. In it, he has exhorted all writers to be more selective as regards the choice of publications. He is absolutely on the spot in saying, “many publications accept literally every article submitted.
